Sorry i've been gone for a few months. There have been some things going on personally that have been hard to handle. My dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on August 21st. About a month later we were planning his funeral. This has been so unimaginable that sometimes I still can't believe it's real. It's been hard to bring myself to blog about design and beautiful things when they seems to trivial now.
Then yesterday I went to a client's house that was so happy to be in her home after the the furniture and art was installed. She thanked me and said she felt so happy, relaxed, and inspired in her home. She was excited to be able to share the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas and create memories with her family. It was then that I realized what I do isn't so trivial, it helps families connect and create memories with each other. And that might be the most important thing. It is important to help create a HOME for a family.
The other thing i've been doing lately is looking at old photos and reliving memories. Then I was thankful for Shannon and her gift of photography. She takes so many beautiful photos capturing special moments in families lives, and that's not trivial at all.
So here I am back blogging with a new inspiration to honor my Dad, in my passion for my work just as he had for his.
Here are a few photos of my Dad that I will always treasure.
